This baking pancake makes pancakes … in the oven?

Are these ‘square’ pancakes somehow even more delicious?

DILLON THOMPSON: Apparently, these plate pancakes are the future of breakfast making. This viral recipe hack should help you make crazy pancake squares with many flavors without ever having to touch a pan or spatula. This recipe is supposed to be faster, more photogenic and somehow even more delicious than traditional pancakes. But is that really all it should be? To find out, we make a sheet of pancakes with four flavors using this hack and see if it really is for snuff. Let’s do it.

OK, this recipe hack is actually very simple. To make these bad boys, we will start by turning on our oven to 425 degrees and meanwhile mixing a ton of pancake mixture by following the instructions in the box to get all the proportions in order. Once we have made it ready in a bowl, we need to put some aluminum foil over the top of our giant plate mold and then fold in all the pancake batter we can to fill the entire plate mold evenly.

Then you can put any toppings you want on top of this thing. We tested this from the start with chocolate chips, bananas, blueberries and square pancakes with strawberry flavor. When the toppings are ready, just toss this bad boy in the oven for 15 minutes, which you can cut into giant squares, drizzle with a ton of syrup and get ready to eat this thing, just like you would with a regular round pancake.

So now that our pancake sheets are ready, it’s time to test this thing on two points, namely taste and convenience. First to taste, I will try all four of my taste quadrants that I made with our pancakes. First of all, chocolate pieces.

Oh my God. It’s so big, airy, tall, delicious pancake stuff. Honestly, the consistency is better than regular pancakes.

Time to try another. We have banana pancakes. Oh my. OK, now blueberry pancakes. Oh my God. So, so good. Any of the fruit flavors and toppings you put in here with the plate shape, they mix so well together. It’s that easy.

The last one I want to try is strawberry pancakes with strawberry syrup. Oh my God. It was a taste overload. We definitely give this 5 out of 5 for taste. All four of our tastes were impeccable. And quite frankly, the consistency of the taste was better than what I am used to with regular round pancakes.

Next up, convenience. Here we also had to give this recipe a 5 out of 5, because it was so easy to make and it yielded a ton of pancakes. I could eat pancakes the rest of my life by this one try if I wanted to. And the best part is that I did not have to mess with a frying pan, which for me is usually a gigantic problem when I make pancakes.

OK, so we’ve counted our results up, and for one of the first times in Tried It history, this recipe hack gets a perfect score as 10 out of 10. Congratulations on the pancakes, but most of all, congratulations to me because I have what looks like a lifetime supply of pancakes to eat and I want to start eating it right now.
