Lancaster County Running Calendar 2022: 11 races to warm up your winter | Together

If you have decided to get active and outside in the new year, there are races and jogging tours to attend this winter.

Most events returned to personal after a break during the pandemic. Some give you the chance to log miles virtually.

Some of these walks and jogs welcome children and pets. Some even welcome leprechaun costumes.

Polar Bear 5K Trail Run and Hike (Virtual)

When: 15.-31. January

Details: This is a fundraiser for the Lancaster Sierra Club to fund grants in the region. Runners and walkers are encouraged to come outside with their pets and significant others. Share photos on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag # PB5K22.


Frozen foot 5K

When: Sunday, January 16th

Where: Elizabethtown College

This series of three monthly winter races features a rolling racetrack and soup at the finish line.


Lancaster Junction Trail 5K and 10K

When: Saturday, January 22nd

Where: Lancaster Junction Trail, Manheim

In this winter race series from the US Road Running Race Club “you are required to have fun.”


Lancaster Junction Trail 5K and 10K

When: Saturday the 19th of February

Where: Lancaster Junction Trail, Manheim

In this winter race series from the US Road Running Race Club “you are required to have fun.”


Welsh Mountain 15K and 30K trail / run / hike

When: Saturday the 19th of February

Where: Welsh Mountain Park, New Holland

The course is a mixture of forest paths and roads. Part of the profits benefit the park. Runners must be at least 21 years old.

When: Sunday, Feb. 20

Where: Elizabethtown College

This series of three monthly winter races features a rolling racetrack and soup at the finish line.


Run4Luck

When: Saturday, March 12th

Where: Lancaster Country Day School

The collection from the Junior League of Lancaster is back for a personal event. has a race of four kilometers, a walk of two kilometers and a fun race for children. Dogs and prams are welcome. St. Patrick’s Day costumes are appreciated. To participate in the virtual race, you must complete a two-mile run or walk on March 12th.


Lancaster Junction Trail 5K and 10K

When: Saturday, March 19th

Where: Lancaster Junction Trail, Manheim

In this winter race series from the US Road Running Race Club “you are required to have fun.”


13- and 26-mile Trail Run

When: Saturday, March 19th

Where: Safe Harbor Park

The course of this race has wide and narrow paths, paths, stone and dirt roads and some elevation changes.


Frozen foot 5K

When: Sunday, March 20th

Where: Elizabethtown College

This series of three monthly winter races features a rolling racetrack and soup at the finish line.


Garden Spot Village Half Marathon, 10K and Kids Run

When: Saturday, March 26th

Where: Garden Spot Village

This race has a half marathon and a 10K opportunity plus a children’s race. This year there is a virtual opportunity to drive 19.-27. March. The race benefits the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund. Run this race alongside the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon and you will win a plaque with petrified road apples.
