Nothing beats a cozy traditional village pub – they have a beautiful countryside atmosphere, they serve all the classic pub dishes, and they are generally located in the heart of the village community.
We’ve put together a list of family-run, independent pubs across Northamptonshire you should visit this winter.
We based our choices on recommendations submitted by readers, pubs that pick up local products and online reviews – bonus points if they have a wood stove that is perfect for the cool winter months.
Many of our local pubs have struggled to stay open over the last two years as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and now it’s as important as ever that we support our independent businesses.
Here are eleven cozy independent Northamptonshire pubs to visit this winter – can you see your favorite?

The food was fantastic, everything served together, hot and delicious. (We reserved menus in advance) Service very friendly and fast. All in all, a fantastic experience in a friendly and cozy English pub. “
